VinLINK Web Service (VLWS)

Note:
VinLINK Web Service REQUIRES AUTHENTICATION (registered user) for all reports.
The VinLINK Web Service (VLWS) provides the VIN decoding report information, to customers who are interested in purchasing the “raw” data, rather than the HTML or PDF - formatted versions available off the VinLINK Report Web site (http://www.vinlink.com/).

VinLINK Web Service requires:

Authentication information (digest password WS-Security UsernameToken Profile 1.0)
VIN (Vehicle Identification Number)
Reporting level that is desired (BASIC-LIGHT, BASIC, OPTION)
Reporting language that is desired (Optional parameter)

Vin Specification - This data set contains basic vehicle information, decoded from a VIN of total of 50 attributes, where the most common are listed below. The sample dataset is also provided below:

Vehicle Specification - This Data Set contains information specifying the researched vehicle model.
Standard Equipment - This Data Set contains technical information about the vehicle, and includes a standard equipment list within specified vehicle version.
Common Equipment - This Data Set contains technical information about common equipment among the vehicles from model line (all trim levels) matching provided VIN.
Optional Equipment - This Data Set contains detailed information on optional equipment, and its relations to each other. It can be used to build, or define an exact vehicle configuration.
Vehicle Photo - Picture (if available) can be a part of each of the reports listed belowt.

BASIC-LIGHT - a subset of VIN Specification: Model Year, Make, Model, Body and Manufacturer
BASIC - a full set of VIN Specification Data Set (about 50 items max)
COMMON - a full set of BASIC Report plus Vehicle Specification, and Common Equipment Specification Data Sets
COMMON_OPTION - a full set of COMMON Report, plus Standard, and Optional Equipment Specification Data Sets
OPTION - a full set of BASIC Report plus Vehicle Specification, Standard Equipment, and Optional Equipment Data Sets Within ach of the above reports it is possible to include Vehicle Photos, where available.

The BASIC-LIGHT Report contain a set of selected attributes from a BASIC report (VIN Specification Data Section), and it is designed as a starting point for the VinLINK System implementation.
